From the Sidelines: Madden Asante
New Frontier Forward selected Canada Soccer CONCACAF U15 captain and takes home bronze!

This month, we are highlighting Madden Asante, New Frontier Soccer Club Forward, for being selected to the 2024 Canada Soccer CONCACAF Girl’s Under-15 Championship squad and being selected captain of the team! Under her captaincy, she led the team to a 2-1 victory over host Costa Rica and secured a third-place finish in the championship – bringing home the bronze medal!
Tina Cook, 2024 Canada Soccer CONCACAF Girl’s Under-15 Championship Head Coach, explains that "the experience of playing top players from outside our borders is an important piece of the development pathway. This exposure at U15 allows players to experience all the things that go into international play."
“Madden is focused in pursuit of her goals while always remaining positive and finding the joy in the process …. she lifts others up when they need it and will never give up in the face of adversity. With each achievement, Madden stays grounded and continues to put in the work that got her there.”

Tina Cook, beyond being the U15 Girl's CONCACAF Championships Head Coach, also serves as the Whitecaps FC Girls Head Coach for Calgary BMO Academy Centre.
“I have enjoyed the opportunity to build relationships with CMSA and leaders within the member clubs and work together to benefit the player pathway here in Calgary”, said Tina Cook. Tina works across the Whitecaps Prospects Academy, Development Academy, and ‘Caps to College programs locally.
We take pride in local Calgary coaches reaching such levels and are eager to see Tina inspire the next generation of coaches.
This is the first appearance Madden has made on the world stage. She noted the dedication to the high-performance habits of other international soccer players, both on and off the field, and never let it deter her from the competitive environment!
“New Frontier Soccer Club's coaching, support, and their positively challenging environment, both physically and mentally, has helped me immensely to prepare for this moment because I learned how to read the game faster and play quicker, and I also learned to embrace new, exciting and demanding situations.”
-Madden Asante on how time spent at New Frontier Soccer Club has helped her prepare for these moments.
“…. they should trust the process and believe in themselves knowing that nobody's journey is the same. You may have ups and downs, but be grateful with every opportunity, and it is important that you respond to adversity with a mindset of growing and becoming better.”
-Madden Asante on advice she would give to other young female players hoping to get to this level.
Her goal after playing minor soccer is to continue her sporting career into a collegiate level and to someday turn professional. This September 2024, Madden will join the Whitecaps Girls Elite Program in Burnaby!
Congratulations and thank you Madden for continuing to inspire players all over Calgary!
