The Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition (PQCC): the competitive pathway for CMSA teams interested in qualifying for Alberta Soccer Provincial Championships.

Teams U13, U15 and U17 at all tiers can opt-into the CMSA Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition. The CMSA Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition matches will run alongside the league in a single elimination knock-out with the number of rounds determined based on the number of teams who opt-in. This competition will run for both Indoor and Outdoor Leagues.
 

Why This Competition?

• A league winner will still be determined at all age groups and tiers but the pressure on teams to ‘win-at-all-costs’ to qualify for provincials through the league has been removed

• The CMSA Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition provides a different experience outside of league play for those teams who are wanting that path to provincials  

• Different competition pathways support coach development and shifts behaviours in league play to ensure players are receiving equitable playing time and developmental opportunities

• The CMSA Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition provides the opportunity for ALL teams interested in an opportunity at qualifying for provincials

• CMSA believes that the modifications will support development through the league enhancing the experience and learning of all participants
